Join Team MaxFit in Support of the Rrace to Find a Ccure for Breast Cancer

3dayTeam MaxFit was formed to walk in support of MaxFit family member, Robin White's mother, Jean White, who has recently been re-diagnosed with breast cancer. We are walking in honor of her fight and the millions of others who are fighting against this disease. Join the team for a weekend of FUN, FITNESS and FUNDRAISING for the fight against breast cancer. The Susan G. Komen 3-day walk (60 miles total) will be taking place in Washington, DC on September 23rd-25th.

We have assembled a team of clients and friends to help raise money for this worthy cause. Everyone can support the team by registering to walk with us OR by donating to the fundraising efforts of our team members.

MaxFit LLC CEO joins Board of Directors for Freeetown HIV Awareness Cup

freetownIn November 2010, MaxFit, LLC CEO Joseph S. Koroma, III was invited to join the board of the Freetown HIV Awareness Cup. As the son of native Sierra Leonians, Koroma felt a personal passion for the cause of the organization that uses the sport of soccer (football) to bring awareness to the issue of HIV and AIDS in Sierra Leone.

In late 2011, The Freetown HIV Awareness Cup will bring together boys and girls from Freetown, Sierra Leone and the surrounding areas to learn about HIV and AIDS and compete in an amateur football tournament. This event will serve as a platform through which important lessons about HIV awareness and prevention can be imparted to the Freetown community. The tournament will be the culmination of an HIV awareness campaign held throughout the summer and fall of 2011 to include HIV awareness classes, coaching clinics, player clinics, exhibition matches, and public service announcements. With your help, the Freetown HIV Awareness Cup can bring both crucial knowledge about the prevention of HIV and AIDS and an exciting football tournament to the people of Freetown, Sierra Leone.

As a board member, Koroma will help with the planning and implementation of sporting events in the U.S and Sierra Leone, as well as fundraising efforts. To learn more about the organization, click here.

MaxFit LLC starts program at Boys & Girls Club of Hopkins Apartments in SE DC

BGCIn September 2010, MaxFit, LLC began its flagship FUNFIT program at the Boys & Girls Club of the Hopkins Apartments in SE, DC. The program focuses on exposing young people to proper exercise and diet at least two times a week. The goal is to encourage young people to incorporate regular exercise into their daily lives towards long term health and fitness.

In addition to the fitness sessions, MaxFit LLC will also provide nutrition clinics and peer events, to introduce participants to the range of lifestyle choices they have available to make healthy choices. Ultimately, the goal of the program is to empower young people, regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds, to ensure that they make the right choices to be physically fit.
